Going on the canal in July and looking for somewhere for some friends to park their car for a couple of days.
Looking on Google maps Tyning Road runs parallel with the canal and looks like quite a good spot, does anyone know if there are any parking restrictions on that stretch?

Tyning Road, Bathampton - here:

Thanks

Unless someone can tell you before, I'm going to be there on Thursday morning so will take a look and report! smile

Tyning Road is alongside Bathampton Primary School and there are restrictions on the parking there (along the lines of 2 hours free, no return in 1 hour, or similar).

I think the parking on Holcombe Lane is free and a short walk down to the canal, or you could ask at The George (right by Tyning Road) pub as they have a big car park.

Cheers Fella, I noticed it was near a school, but looking at Google maps, there is a stretch of road away from the school that looks like it might be suitable for parking.

Thanks, yes I saw the school.
I'll check out Holcombe Lane and give the pub a call, thanks again.

That bit of Bathampton is busy busy with tourists so I would bet there are restrictions.

After the school it's a single track road leading to a farm and a couple of yards so no space to park.

Looked earlier, opposite the school is restricted to four hours in 'daylight', no restriction overnight. Otherwise it's resident permit.

I'd try and do a deal with the pub, can't imagine they've not been asked before.
