The Royal Oak at East Lavant is a good pub with excellent food and accommodation and the Kennels at Goodwood if of course you can get in.

Don't hang about booking something. We had to book quite a long way away to get something that wasn't stupid expensive about a month ago. Everything gets booked up quite quickly around the FOS

The best/nearest hotels will have been booked up almost as soon as the dates for this years event were published last year.

It will now be a question of getting in anywhere you can without paying silly money. I expect you will be looking at least a 30 min drive away.

Finding a hotel anywhere near is virtually impossible.

it does seem trying to find a hotel for 2 days that isnt fully booked is becoming a pain

so it may be a holiday inn .nothing wrong with them as long as there is a pub withing walking distance

You can stay under our Winnebago if you like, it can be a bit draughty at times, but keeps most of the rain out wink I would go for camping (or glamp it like us) and bring your bike, don't hang about and get it booked asap. We always cycle to the gate, padlock them, spend the day looking at gir...I mean cars!! Then back to the Goodwood Hotel for "refreshments" and then wobble our way back to the campsite for grub.....happy-days!!

You will notice that all hotel prices go up considerably when any Goodwood events are on. Supply and demand I'm affraid.

I now book as soon as the dates are published if possible.

The first time I went I only got the tickets a couple of months before and of course anywhere near was booked, so I just booked somewhere on the way home about 40 mins from goodwood. This far out prices are normal rates.

If it was me, I would drive for an hour or so and then look for somewhere. Bloody rip-off country annoys me. £300 for a Holiday Inn? Absolute joke. I just wouldn't give any of the greedy sods the satisfaction, I really wouldn't. Festival of Greed indeed.

The nearest hotels you will get this close to the event will be in Portsmouth. You won't find anything in Chichester or Bognor or anywhere local.
