Gordano this morning en route to cwc
Discussion
I joined the MWay at WSM about 0925 thinking I might just hit you guys coming up from Taunton/Exeter
By pure luck, just as I came up towards Clevedon I could see a white MR2, 3 series, 944 and 1 series in convoy ahead of me, so went nuts (well, 69.999 MPH) to catch up
And then had no idea everyone was meeting at Gordano - what sight!
It reminded me of the 'old' days at Cheddar Gorge
Only wish I'd hung back a bit at Gordano and got in thhe middle of the convoy so I could appreciate it all more
Convoys often make these events - we need more!
The last one of note like this (to my experience at least) was the run up to the Prescott open hill climb last year, seemed like PH owned the M5 that day

So you were the M3 that came buzzing up behind me By pure luck, just as I came up towards Clevedon I could see a white MR2, 3 series, 944 and 1 series in convoy ahead of me, so went nuts (well, 69.999 MPH) to catch up

When we arrived there was just three yellow Ferrari's parked up, it was cracking watching it fill up and the look of bemusement on regular Services users.
Fabulous sight.
Go there just as they parked and was amazed to see 2-3 yellow Ferrari T shirts wearing men pop out the cars Fabulous sight.
Here's the pics I took at Gordano, mines the white SLK on the right. I guess we all took the same pics.....thankfully I didn't fall down the embankment!
What a superb day, from the meet at The Compass Inn (sorry if I was over worried about parking, we all squeezed in there somehow!)
The run to Gordano was great, much enjoyment watching confusion over lanes approaching the M5.....and so many fantastic cars, and great noise top down.
.....the sight at Gordano was awesome and they just kept on arriving. I loved the faces on young boys In the back of family cars as their parents looked for somewhere to park, their eyes were out on stalks!
Great weather at the venue, great cars and great company. Also got to meet Gail Hill after watching her race in the JEC race series for ten years, brilliant!
Downsides, only two minor ones
Hit a MASSIVE pothole about halfway up the hill from Portbury village. Never spotted it in the dappled sunshine, I thought the tyre and wheel would be wrecked.....upon inspection, thankfully not, phew.
I REALLY wish I'd bought pink raffle tickets in the range 500-600, whoever stirred them up didn't do a very good job!!!
Any news on the total raised on the day yet?
Best
