Arse. The gt86 broke second race.
Did you see the Celica roll over at camp?
Happily nobody hurt.
Yeah the GT86 looked great but wasn't much of a performer for various reasons unfortunately. I was at Avon bridge when the celica crashed. I gave a massive clap when I saw him get out, was a nasty one. Did you see the Celica roll over at camp?

Favourites of the say had to be Prebble driving Ballard's leon (a new car for him) and doing brilliantly. Adrian Slade for delivering some awesome racing as always in his very nippy 106, sad that he retired. That amazing VW Vento... That sound!!! The entire MR2 & Hyundai Coupe races were excellent. Also very much enjoyed seeing the tricolor (french stuff) blasting round.
All in all a good day, although a bit chillier than I had hoped considering I didn't bring a jacket!

Had a chat with the GT86 team before the racing. They had concerns about one of the fuel pumps which had failed a couple of times before. They have a two pump set-up but had no strategy to swap them until now. I think that's what happened in race one - the first pump failed again and he had to reboot top switch as it's still a WIP. Seems there may be a problem with the fuel filters to cause the failures.
In his third race of the day something front left broke suspension/steering wise I think - as he came out of Quarry no steering so went straight on. Lucky hit was after the bend! Don't think he hit anything.
May be update here later: fb.

Yeah it definitely had problems, think they were using this day as a test as much as anything. Nice V8 engine though! Also heard something from the commentators about trials for a future in brit car, seemed like they were referring to this team.
The reason it went straight on from quarry exit was the loss of a wheel surprisingly!

I thought it was probably the engine out of an Isf. Only V8 they do in 5 litre iirc.
Nice photo
EDIT: Here is the wheel incident!
