Wheelnuts, Stroud, Sunday 27/04/14
Discussion
If anyone is looking for something to do on Sunday please come along and support this charity event.
It is held at St Roses School, Stroud and is a school for disadvantaged children. We managed to raise about £5000.00 last year towards a hydrotherapy pool.
There is usually around 150 cars ranging from vintage to modern, rods to classics as well as some auto jumble stands and the usual food & drink stands.
Gates open at 1030am for visitors.
Thanks.

I was there, sadly not displaying any of my cars as they are all in bits - I've not had a car on show for 3 years now which is poor.
There are always a few interesting cars and owners so I always make the effort to pop along as quite often it's one of only a few occasions that some of the cars venture out. I did quite well this year as one of the jumble sales stands had a good selection of period looking A4 prints so I picked a few up for the garage & flat.
So which PH members had cars on display, i dont recall seeing any PH smileys about.

True your Scimitar does brighten up the dullest of days.
I only chatted to a few people, there was a BMW 840ci with 4.4 & 6 speed manual that was particularly interesting and the owner was a really decent chap. I also spoke to the Esprit owner as I was stood by his car holding a Lotus poster that I'd bought so he assumed I was mad keen.
Also had a chat with a couple of the camper van owners to as they were quite interesting, the purple one is owned by a friend of mines uncle so I usually get the full run down on what has been changing in the VW world.
The other thing I like about the show is some of the wonderful comments from other people, did you see the Plymouth Baracuda that had a sign on it saying "I am not the Duke of Hazard car", two kids (probably around 13-15) were stood there saying it is a Duke of hazard car, and I bet you can jump it haha.
Then there were the Vauxhall Vectras an Astra mk4, overhearing the Vectra owner talking about how rare the car is and only 1300 Vectras like his left on the road was quite amusing. In all fairness I know it's a charity event and getting more people in is better but the "pot hole dodgers" (i think they were called) looked a bit poor among the more traditional well kept classics.
