Anybody used "My Alloys" wheel re-furb place in Bristol, down near Avon Meads Retail Park?

They look and sound like they will do a really good job and without seeing them, quoted £65+VAT for each wheel (19") to completely strip and re-paint all parts of the wheel.

Need all 4 of mine done and wanted to keep it in Bristol (so I can drop the car off and pedal back home on my bike!) instead of travelling further afield.

Anybody have any experiences of this place?

Cheers all. I'm not really after a smart repair though. Need to get the inside parts of the wheel done as they are looking a bit rough now. The 5-spoke design also lets you have a good view of the inside part which would be a let-down if I only had the face repaired.

Will look at getting them booked in before the end of the month and report back with some before and after pics.

i'm sure DMD do full refurbs to, but worth a phone call to see what he can offer

he's apparently been there and doing for years

i have no affiliation to him or the company, and not aware of the name above. Think the guy is called Dave?

We've just had 4x elise alloys fully refurbed with My Alloys (Bristol). Very helpful and friendly, great job done on the wheels and the price seemed decent too. Couldn't ask for more!

Sorry all.

Have to say that I am really, really happy with the service and quality of the work done by these chaps.

My standard 19" alloys on my RS 6 all look absolutely perfect now.

Kept up-to-date with progress, even to the point where they admitted that they weren't happy with the finish after the first attempt and got sent back to be re-painted again.

Even sourced and fitted a new pair of tyres (after finding dangerous tyre-wear on the fronts) at an extremely competitive price - a quick Googling and I couldn't find them much cheaper than their quote.

Overall - excellent on quality of workmanship and communication with a very fair price.

No link at all to the company, just a satisfied customer.

I've heard many good words about them. A lad I know owns an alloy place and they do a lot of work for them too.

Gutted to discover the Bristol branch is now closed!!

Is there now no-one in Bristol doing full acid strip refurbs? I'm not after a 'smart' repair.

I'm not surprised, they were very quiet when I was last there. There is another place though – I saw the van and made a mental note of the name, which I immediately forgot.

Ta laugh

Shame. I suspect the fact that their web/seo presence is non-existant didn't help.

I googled everything I could think of to find them but only got a good hit by when I remembered their actual name.

I used MyAlloys Bristol for a set of four Alpina 18" last April and am very happy with the work done still - holding-up very well. Popped in before Christmas to find they were shutting that day - a real shame, their service and comms during were excellent as mentioned above.

So instead I've just had the 5th wheel I wanted sorting refurbed (to match the other four as a full-size spare) by Phoenix Enhancements in Bristol (Brislington) and their work is at least as good, fast and done on site too, including the straightening tweaks and bake. They can diamond-turn on site too if that's what you are looking for. I'd happily use Phoenix again.

Sorry to hear MyAlloys have closed. I had some good service from them and did a great job on one of my tvr spiders. Still good to know another local company comes recommended!thumbup

I picked up my A3 a couple of months ago and it looked like the previous owner parked on the nearside by touch. Phoenix Alloys in Brislington did a great job on doing a diamond cut refurbishment.

There's a wheel refurb place opened in Avonmouth on St Andrews Road called the wheel specialists.
I've not used them so can't comment
