Even worse, the bugger phoned at noon and said he couldn't make it :-(

I'd sold it on Ebay and didn't really know how to get it apart myself (although 10 mins and a bit of thought showed it was easy), but if it is working when they arrive and theyy dismantle it, then it isn't my problem if they can't get it back together again.

Got neice and her husband down in a fortninght, so not sure.

Still, at long last both in-laws are in a care home, and as of Friday their house will be on the market, so soon we might even get weekends back. It also means I need to find somewhere else for the car.

That's so frustrating when people do that, I assume he decided the weather was too nice to come to collect the stairlift.

Just a thought, I know that Eurolifts based in Bere Ferrers (near Tavistock) used to buy stairlifts from private residents such as yourself. You may not get quite as much money but it will be hassle free. 01822 841178. They then take the responsibility of installing it and getting it working (saves hassle for you through ebay)

Thanks - I tried a couple of places that remove them, but they wanted £100 or so!

If he fails to turn up on Tues then I'll go up on Friday and take the thing to the tip.
