Hi I have just booked a track day at Thruxton next month and the sound limit is tight at 90dbs, anyone have a meter I could check my car on before?

Thanks,
Corin

Try one of the local car climbs, particularly one that runs speed hillclimbs.

On the bike side the noise meter operator is usually shown in the handbooks etc. Might be prepared to noise test your car for a donation to their charity/ben fund.

For example, bike ACU noise meter operator shown here:

Alan Jeffries has one, he tested our GTR last summer. Would be worth a call, not sure if he's charge you

Dunno how accurate this will be but I ordered one of these today:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-Sound-Level-Mete...

I have finally accepted that fully decatted with straight through pipes is too loud for the rest of the population (I think it's ok), so I am changing the exhaust to add a bit of silencing ... but not too much wink

Ordered the above to get a before / after comparison and at £20 it seemed like a nice toy to have.
