I can highly recommend Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions in Swindon. All wheels come with a 12 month warranty

Used Griffs if its the one at the end of ladge causeway in Bristol and local to me for powder coating. was not aware they paint as well. might be worth popping over to to see them first but thanks for both suggestions so far

That's the one. They powder coated mine. They mentioned that they knew someone who could paint the plastic centre caps, but they don't do paint as far as I know. They can alloy weld cracks and scuffs as well.

They do seem to have a good range of powder coat colours, though. According to their web site:
We have most base colours and specials such as Ducati red and Cadbury's purple in stock as well as translucents, candies, metallics, and of course a very high gloss black which is comparable with 2 pack black. Also, we can supply an older type gloss black suitable for pre-1950 motorcycles and a beautiful satin black.

EDIT:
They masked the mating surfaces for the hub and the wheel nuts as well, which wasn't done by the last "specialist" who painted a set of my wheels.
