Morning all,

I am in need of some help, I am going with a group to Bath on Saturday but we have not decided on where to watch the 6 Nations at 5pm. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I thought about the Slug and Lettuce on George Street but it appears they are not taking bookings. I just want us to be guaranteed a seat really.

Cheers

Surely trying to guarantee a seat in a pub whilst the 6 Nations is on is pure folly?

Why the requirement for a seat? Very unlikely anywhere unless you get there early! What kind of pub are you after, or just anywhere that has the rugby on?

We'll be there early, probably very early hence the wanting a seat.

OK, lets change the question. Where's going to have a good atmosphere?

Well the Wales game starts at half past 2 and there are rather a few Welsh students in Bath, wherever you go I recommend getting there before 1.

That's a valid point... I hadn't thought about the Wales game. I think the plan is to get into town around mid day so I guess we should be OK, just need to decide on where to go now.

Pig and Fiddle on Broad Street is usually pretty lively, that's where I'd go, no shortage of atmosphere there!

Pig and Fiddle is a good shout.
Does Hall and Woodhouse have TV screens? Or The Salamander?
The only other one I can think of off-hand is The Raven but I'm fairly sure they don't.

Pig and Fiddle is a good bet.
The Saracen's Head will be showing it on big screens too but isn't as good a pub.

Hall and Woodhouse don't have TVs IIRC.
The Salamander has a couple of small TVs.

How about the Trinity, last time i was in on a Saturday afternoon they had the rugby on reasonable size screens also I think the Pultney arms is a good bet as well.

The Pulteney will be rammed and is quite small. Great pub but not the best for watching sport IMO.

Forgot about this thread sorry gents.

We went with the Pig and Fiddle. Good pub that, if a little squished by the time the England game was on. Getting to the toilet or the bar did become a bit of a chore. However the atmosphere was great, they need some louder speakers though, I hate not being able to hear what is going on.

All in all a great day was had in Bath, suitably inebriated too!
