Who's going to the Castle Combe Trackday in March?
Discussion
Hello everyone!
As some of you may already know, there is a new Supercar club in the South West, which is aptly named 'Supercars Southwest' (whom I will be helping to photograph for! ). www.supercarssouthwest.co.uk On Thursday March 13th, the organisers have managed to book the Castle Combe circuit for the Club and Supercar Owners in the South West! It looks like amazing fun, with quite a few places booked already!
I was just wondering whether anyone on here is definitely going? It would be great to see more of you there, so if you would like to come along, drop an email to Matt on enquiries@supercarssouthwest.co.uk for more details!
Thanks guys and I hope to see some of you going!
Tom

I dont think I would qualify, or that the clients would enjoy being shown up !!
I took a look on the website, well webpage as there isnt much on it
To be fair it does have more than one page but yes it's not great.I took a look on the website, well webpage as there isnt much on it
Seems it is run by a Matt Palmes from Torquay who also organised this:

Odd really, as I'm quite well connected in the Lambo world and not heard anything about this club....
The club has literally just been started by Matt Palmes, so as of yet there is not very much info online about them and their website is still in development. I first heard of Supercars Southwest from my friends at Carrs Ferrari Exeter, who told me it would be a great opportunity for me to advance my photography skills and experience if I could shoot for him, so I asked and he is letting me take photos for the website and events, as well as some portfolio work. I'm just trying to get as many people to go as possible to start up the club as we all have to start somewhere!
I am finding out about the noise limits just now so will let you know about it.
And Giles, you never know! Evo's have slipped into the trackdays that Matt has organised previously, so as yours is tuned there could be a possibility of getting on track!

Chrisfitz - The homepage menu is written black on black and so invisible ! After your comment I have hunted and found it, so i take it back - more than 1 page.
DaboftheBrake - Dont worry, I can go to many other trackdays - I did one in January already. A limit of 5 cars on track does not excite me, too restrictive and not enough track time.
Good luck with the club

Some more information that Matt has given me -
With ref db level we are on the max permit of 105db as below. If there are any probs on the day they have exhaust muffler systems available to attach to the pipes. Generally if they aren't wildly modified exhausts they should go through fine.
Exclusive circuit hire by Supercars SouthWest for a track day on Thursday 13th March 2014
Permit will be a max 6 cars on track 105dBA.
All participating owners cars will need to pass a noise test with MSA official. Vehicles are tested while static, noise meter at a range of 0.5 meters from exhaust tip at an angle of 45 degrees, at three quarters of the vehicle’s maximum revs.
The day will be run by Castle Combe Circuit staff and officials. All drivers will be required to sign on to the Circuit’s documentation and attend a compulsory drivers briefing.
Sessions will be run in groups of six every 15mins from 9-5pm - Cost is £165 per car. Please arrive for 8.30/9am
If you would like some ontrack pointers or expert instruction that option is also available to request on booking form as is helmet hire, etc.
The Tavern Restaurant will be open throughout the day serving cooked breakfasts, hot lunches, drinks and snacks.
If you need any more information, please feel free to contact Matt on enquiries@supercarssouthwest.co.uk
Haha Val! Seen as though you can feel the Skyline coming from about 12 miles away, I reckon its a bit too loud too!

I totally agree Giles, the site is quite poor really in that it is very hard to navigate and see what else there is.DaboftheBrake - Dont worry, I can go to many other trackdays - I did one in January already. A limit of 5 cars on track does not excite me, too restrictive and not enough track time.

Whether it has just got going or not, the website is not a very good advertisement for the club as it looks so poor and is poorly laid out not too mention the almost stealth navigation. Will probably put more people off than join.
See you tomorrow at the farm. Assuming the roads aren't all blocked with fallen trees and flooded!
I'll be there as we're also doing our own launch alongside Matt's. We've hired the Strawford centre for the day, and will be bringing some of our self drive sports cars along amongst other things!
I know Matt well, having displayed at the Super Weekend last year. He's put lots into making the day a success so will be great to see a good turnout. Very much looking forward to it!
Tom - will be good to meet you and see some of your work!

Its great to see a few of you going and checking it out! I'm not certain whether I will be able to make it as its 150 miles from me and it clashes with College, but I hope you all enjoy the time out on track and watching!
With reference to the website, this one was put together quickly for the opening, but I will be helping Matt out to create a much better one that'll be online in the future!
I know your Fabia is a 'super' car being fast in Britain, but it might not be able to slip in with the Lamborghinis and Ferraris that are already going unfortunately! Shame really, it seems like one heck of a car you've got there!
