Well not quite golf balls but here in Warminster we have just had approx 5mins of heavy hail with the stones at least an inch in diameter, a few car alarms set off due to the size/intensity but all eased off now and we just have rain now with the strong wind.
Went along the M4 this morning: encountered the aftermath of a hailstorm near the Membury services. Went through there around 11am, so probably the same event as you.
