Hi all.

I have tried the Pistonhead search but it does my brain in. I need to find somewhere reputable to weld a crack in my alloy wheel, and if the costs are reasonable to refurb the other three.

I am based in Deadruth but any where in Cornwall would do as long as I get a good job.

Many thanks in advance.

Pat.

The best I know of is South West Wheel Repairs on Marsh Barton, Exeter. Not the cheapest, but that's because they are the best. smile

and if you make the trip, ask Bob if you can see some of the machinery in the back. It's no two penny outfit. They have a machine for all stages of prep and paint. There's also usually a tasty piece of machinery from a local sports car dealer (porsche etc) that is on axle stands whilst the wheels are in being done.

Another vote for South West Wheel Repairs. Just got my Noble wheels back and straightened, great finish and service. Merc booked in to have Brabus wheels refurbed.
A trek for you from Redruth though!!

Thanks all,

Exeter is not a problem with these recommendations, what sort of money are we talking about versus a new wheel.

Its a 20" Cremona on a XJ, without calling the main dealer garage I'm assuming a new wheel would be around the £300 to £400 mark. Tried searching breakers etc but cant find one and who now's what life it's had anyway.

Once again many thanks.

Pat.

About £70 per corner delivered off vehicle and about £20 to straighten from memory.

They had 3 attempts (all failed) to do mine
in the end I went to Platinum in Swindon.

SWWR finish =runs blisters
and said I was picky
blamed paint
took pictures of my wheels laid on bare concrete
and tried to convince others there was no issue.

From what I have heard Polished wheel company in Wadebridge are pretty good. Planning on taking my BBS split rims there to be separated and refinished pretty soon.
