We went year. Interesting place place an interesting drive to get to it across the plain with burnt out tanks etc.

The church has very informative displays and my lad found a used casing off a spent round so he was well chuffed! smile

Christmas and New Year Open Days (New)

St Giles Church will be open to visitors between 27th December and 5th January. The church will open at 11am and close at 4pm each day. Refreshments will be available each day. Honey, literature and the usual postcards will also be on sale.

Popped across there at lunchtime today (rude to not as it is approx 15mins away) must have been the '2CV Owners Club' meet as about 25 of them arrived just after we did!

I was talking to my husband about this the other day, might try and go there tomorrow or Monday depending on the weather.

How do you get there? It appears there is access from both Warminster and Tilshead?
As there is a pic of an Elise can I assume the roads are ok? Don't fancy off roading in something unsuitable.
Thanks

eta - err are there any speed limits? Not suggesting a land speed record attempt...

The road is acceptable but dotted with a few potholes, so caution is advised.

A major cycle event is routed through here this morning, so will be busy.

There's access route info here:

http://www.imberchurch.org.uk/

The roads are ok for cars, at low speeds...

Speed limit is 30mph I think, and you can even buy a cuppa and a mince pie in the church for £1.50 smile

If you go in via the A360, turn off here at Gore Cross:

The road is pretty well made up from here all the way into Imber.
