Driving home today along the B3086 between Larkhill and Shrewton I spotted a car on it's roof a good 40-50ft from the road, the car is in such a state I was unable to identify it eek
It has the police tape around it but they musy have been going at a faor old pace to end up that far from the road!

Anyone else spot it? If I had to guess I would say mk6 Astra.

Often when a crash looks bad, its a sign that the safety cell worked.
But sometimes thats sadly not the case.

That is an almost straight piece of road, where was the crash? I must admit it is possible to get up a fair head of steam along there.

After the ammo place but before you get to the bit of an 'S' in the road (before the crossroads on the Shrewton side) if that makes sence?

I would like to say a big thankyou to the idiot walking the same way as the traffic along there at 7am this morning when it was dark in.....frickin cammo gear! mad

I know that spot, road can be a bit bumpy if at speed so maybe they just lost it. Bit like the range road from Bulford to Tidworth, if you are not familiar with it or maybe over familiar then it can bite you in the arse.

Indeed, travel that road every day for work and have seen a few wrecks left on the side of the road, came across a Focus ST this morning which looked like it had been rolled into the field on the Bulford Droveway.

It's still parked there, and a very long way off! Must have been high speed and very messy. Lucky if everyone got out ok.

I drove along there this evening but did not spot it, I was headed from Chittern to Larkhill.

If it is still there it is a lot easier to spot going the other way due to the bushes etc

Just driven past again and managed to spot it, impressive distance from the road.

It never surprises me how and where people manage to crash.

A lad in a hatchback managed to wreck it here
http://goo.gl/maps/6Nm2d
on Fri night, wasn't going that quck as he came into camera shot, certainly slower than a lot of taxis, but for some reason braked on the crest then the back went left, he caught it, overcorrected, and the whole car went left into the fence (luckily replaced since Google went past) between the sign and the bus stop before rolling on to its side and then spinning on the footpath. A triumph of momentum of ability.

A few weeks earlier a scooter in lane 2 decided he wanted lane one, so ducked left in front of someone into a gap, and straight into the back of a long line of stationary traffic.

Too dark for you to have a guess at what car it is?

Think its a new Astra but not a straight panel on it.

It's on a fairly straight piece of quiet road but someone has managed to get their car a fairly impressive distance into the field over some sizeable bushes. Not rubber necking, just commenting on a local event.
