Can I borrow a metal detector? East Devon

I have a blocked pipe from my Bathroom that a drainage firm can't clear as they cant find a manhole cover. They think its somewhere under my lawn. Rather than them dig up the whole lawn (as I'm selling the house and will soon exchange) I wonder if I could locate any hidden cover with a metal detector first.

I don't own one but I was hoping someone from the East Devon area might be able to lend me one.

HSS Hire do them for £25/day (plus VAT) Though you do need to trek to The Big City (well, Exeter anyway)

Jewsons will also do one for detecting pipes in the wall, might take a while on your lawn though

Alternatively Google for a local club and see if they will pop around.
