I sold my S Type, and today bought a cheap (compared to the S Type) mk2 MR2
The clutch is slipping and needs replacing. Does anyone know a garage near Sherborne that will be used to dealing with mid engined cars?

Ctc in somerton might be worth a try as they used to race a mk2 turbo.

Thank you, but no thank you.
Sorry
Due to my age any mods rocket the insurance up.
Not to mention it is loud enough inside as it is!

Do we get to see the beast? I had a mk2 for a bit and loved it.

Here's a link to the thread I created on mine with all the bits I did while I owned it. Thought you might find it interesting.

The sills need cutting and re welding (rust), but other than that its a very tidy car.
Hopefully alot cheaper to run too!
Ill have a read through your thread. At least i no whose brain to pick when it packs up. laugh

Looking good, I'm assuming the stuff on the sills is more mud than rust. Nice to see you have the common problem of the aerial that won't go up or down, I found a place that sold a replacement mast which fixed it but for some reason made a strange grinding noise when it reached the top.

Looks like yours is a GT, mine wasn't so I can't be of much use if your engine goes pop.

Rob- Yeh, thats mud, the rust isnt visible, because the previous owner welded a plate over it, but its definately there!
I also wasnt aware the aerial should go up and down until i read your blog! Haha

I should add, i bought all the service parts my self, yesterday. My dad has offered to do it.
But he is only free the weekend of the PH Christmas lunch, im hoping we will just do the clutch that weekend, and do campbelt and oil the weekend after.
So i no longer need a garage who can do it.
Cheers for all the recommendations.

Clean and tidy ones are over rated.
What you need is a real snotter that you can bounce off hedges (and arnco). Laughs per pound, excellent value!
