Meeting up with a mate on Wednesday lunchtime for a couple of hours to have a chat and a bite to eat.

I used to live in Yeovil so know the area very well but it's probably fifteen years since I ate out at a lunchtime. Anyone been to the Natterjack (Evercreech), Cannards Grave (Shepton), Manor (Ditcheat) or Queens Head (Wraxall) lately? Or has anyone got a better alternative?

Cheers. thumbup

Hi Mart, you won't go wrong with the Natterjack, although its about 25 mins from home we class it as our 'local' for food, has been the same landlord for years, really nice bloke, Adrian . FWIW we've never had a bad meal, plenty of specials as well as the menu. If we take friends out for a meal its there every time !The others I don't know about.

My local!
Bloody good grub. Or try the Oakhill inn, the Mendip Inn or The Duke of Cumberland. Not that I go to pubs hehe

Is it still run by the same couple? We used to live in the old part of Coleford (not the interesting bit at the top of the hill!) so it was a mile walk home after a meal. Used the Vobster Inn and the one in Leigh too. Never bumped in to Kevin McCloud though!

Don't think so. Very good grub though. And how rude, I used to live in the 'interesting' part of Coleford hehe
Vobster Inn is still ok, changed hands a few times.
Mr McCloud was in Coleford Co-op. Rumours where rife!

Trips to the chippie were absolute cabaret - the rumours of unusual parentage were definitely true! I never dared go in the Eagle.
Still we did like it down there, was just too far to commute each day.
