Myself and Mrs O are off down to Kernow later in the month for a week. We plan a leisurely week seeing a few sights, eatimng a few pasties etc.

Any suggestions for interesting places to visit (NB We've been to the Eden Project) and/or roads to drive would be greatly appreciated.smile Places must be accesible for limited mobility (or at least for me to push the wheelchair) so unfortunately country walks are out frown

My Saab is getting tuned this weekend (up to 250bhp/370NM) torque so hopefully the weather will be good and we'll take her with us smile...if not it'll be the Golf!

Cheers smile

Don't forget your jabs.

Eden project is nice, as is St Ives, Restormel Castle, Pendennis Castle,

really depends what you want to do

And careful not in insult a mans wife. Could be his sister/mother too wink

Bring a raincoat. It is damp and horrible here right now and has been for a week or so.

Thanks folks biggrin

It seems as though we have been there a gazillion times so really trawling around to see if there's anything we have missed on previous visits really.

It could just end up as a bimble-fest for a week with copious pasties and cream teas lick

Oh well..hard life innit smile

I'd have to recommend Dartmoor and Tavistock for a good day out. There are plenty of pasty shops in Tavistock, and also a large indoor market, then you can go and sit on Dartmoor with an Ice Cream. Princetown is a small place to visit whilst on Dartmoor, but it is good for a nice pub. There's also a pub on Dartmoor, but I can't remember what the name of it is right now! If I remember it I'll be sure to tell you! biggrin

Oh, and also Bude is pretty nice. I have to say that as I spend most of my time there! But there are many good places to visit in and around Bude (Widemouth Bay is very picturesque and the canal at Bude is good for an easy stroll if you are into wildlife!).

Go for Padstow, good for wheelchair access, all on the flat. Loads of restaurants, try Steins Cafe or The Bistro. You can take the passenger ferry from Padstow to Rock, which makes a nice afternoon.

St.Mawes, very very pretty if you havnt been

St.Michaels Mount too

There's the recently relocated classic air force at Newquay airport if you like that sort of thing.

Try one of Paul Ainsworth's restaurants in Padstow. Also The Cornish Arms does lovely food with good service.

Loads of good suggestions, especialyl the walk from Penzance to St Michaels Mount.

The telegraph museum at Porthcurno is great if you havent been there before.
Mousehole is a nice place to while away an afternoon, as is St Just if the galleries are open. Cape Cornwall has some stunning coast line and is worth a visit to see the MCA, pop in and they will let you have a go on the super zoon telescope (not a euphemsim) and tell you whats going on out at sea.
Sennen Cove is also stunning, just take a pair of binoculars and look out for porpoises, seals and dolphins.
For something different, the train from St Ives to Looe is a good day out too as it follows some great coastline before taking you inland. Again, Falmouth is has enough for a good day out if you take the ferry to St Mawes for a wander round as well.
