Wales drIve out?

Anyone fancy a drive out to South Wales before the weather turns nasty?

It's something I've been meaning to do for a long while. I've got different routes suggested all marked up and programmed into the sat nav but I just haven't found the time to do it this year.

It would have to be a very early start to avoid all the traffic. I'd be setting out from M5 Jct 13 area so either down motorway and across old bridge to start or via Ross-on-Wye.

If not this year then definitely next!

Not a very active South West member ill be honest.

But with the M135i now delivered I am looking to take it on a good hard run. Id be up for something if the weather holds up some when. My pal in his new 350z would probs be up for it as well.

I would be really keen to join along with 1 other, we would be heading down from Tewkesbury area so Ross On Wye route would be best for us.

Sorry for my lack of response guys, been a bit busy of late.
I'd probably link up with the guys driving from Tewkesbury and then via Ross-on-Wye.
Date wise, nothing in mind but has to be fairly soon before grim weather sets in and I do favour an early start before the roads get frustratingly busy.
I do have a suggested route via Ross which I'll have to dig out and post up to see what you think.

Sounds like a great route! Shall we take the route down from the forum in the meantime so it's not public?

How does next Sunday work for the drive? I'm happy to do an early start to get clear roads on the way out.

I am just South of Gloucester so would a meeting point on the A40 west of Gloucester then out to Ross / Monmouth be good for others?

Great news, quite a few interested now. I have one other that will be driving too, just looking for someone to lead if possible as I don't know the route/roads at all in this area.

Saturday this weekend is a bit tricky for me now but Sunday is good. I can come up with a route if no-one else minds.

As EdLeMas is Westbury on Trym (sorry I misread that earlier as Westbury on Severn), how about meeting at Aust Services and then convoy over the old bridge, Chepstow, then Usk, Abergavenny. I know a few of the roads in the black mountains and Brecons.

Suggestions for a start time? 7:00, 8:00 am? Not sure what other people think is early....

OK, how about 8:00 am meet at Aust Services, then over the M48 bridge to Chepstow, Usk, Abergavenny then a route around some of the roads in Brecons and Black Mountains.

Sorry but I'm going to pull out as I seem to have an alternator problem , just came back from filling up with fuel for the drive out and the batt-light is on, made it home but only 8-volts left
