Dorset Treasure Hunt - Sunday October 27th "CANCELLED"

Hi all,

I organised a PH treasure hunt last November around the Cheddar area, which everyone seemed to think was a good afternoon out.

I'm thinking of doing one centred around the Sherborne area of North Dorset on the last Sunday of September.

We'll meet up at a pub at about noon for a short chinwag, you'll get a route sheet to follow with questions to answer along the way and then you'll return to the pub for drinks - and a meal if you fancy it. It'll be on nice roads with the answers not too difficult to find, and bonus points for collecting certain things. It'll take about an hour to hour and a half to drive, so not too long and plenty of opportunity to wave madly at people going the wrong way.

The top 3 teams will get gold, silver and bronze cakes which are extra scrummy and made by my girlfriend.

Well seen as it's just down the road why not!

Although it would probably be best if I rode shotgun with someone as using a bike probably isn't best!
I'll wait for the tastiest car to come along and ride in that one (read whoever can actually put up with me )

I've been waiting to see if there was any more interest, but it seems that date is rather busy for lots of peeps.

So, I'm going to postpone it to Sunday 27th October instead.

I'll post up more details next month. Can you let me know if you're coming along?

This is still on, by the way - on Sunday 27th October.

I'm going to be working on the clues this weekend.

Most likely we'll meet at the Hunter's Moon pub south of Sherborne at about noon, which has a fairly large car park. I'll confirm next week.

Is this treasure hunt one which has good driving roads aswell as the fun of hunting stuff? Might be able to persuade a friend it's a good idea but we'd be coming from by Swindon if so!

Yep, decent driving roads and hunting stuff. It won't be stupid stuff like 'find a white rabbit that's a little bit morose' but stuff you can easily see from your car or that needs a quick shufty outside. I don't like to break up the drive every 5 yards.

Typical. I live in Sherborne, so this would have been good to go to, however, I'm currently working abroad until mid November. Bah.
