I think my snotter Golf is going to need a couple of jobs doing that are beyond me to get through an MOT (rear axle bushes for one which I'm told are an utter pig of a job)

Can anyone recommend a garage in Gloucestershire that does a good job without charging the earth? Getting into the realms of uneconomical to repair but I can't be bothered with the hassle of looking for a new car.

Whereabouts in Gloucestershire?

I can recommend Severn Vale Service Centre in Frampton on Severn, or Car Performance in Sharpness.

I use Severn Vale on Tango1, and OberGruppenfuhrer has used Car Performance on her old Peugeot a number of times.

I use Natton Garage at Ashchurch or Gotherington Cross garage, the latter is probably the best for a snotter, but both are ok and not expensive

When I lived in the area, I used Graham Daly at Bredon's Norton, just past Croft Farm. Really good guy, looked after my vans and cars. Honest, hard working and very pleasant to deal with.

Perhaps have a look at Alderton Garage Stow road, they maintain and repair all sorts of old stuff, MOT's too.
