Hi,

I am tasked with finding 20-30 sports / supercars / classics to form a convoy into the large Sherborne Castle classic car show on the 21st July - i.e. this month.

We'll leave from Cheddar Gorge at 10.30, travelling south to pick up anyone else at Sparkford services at about 12. We then drive to the castle for 12.30, at which point the organiser announces us to the adoring public as we drive in through the castle courtyard and into the show. The organiser then tells the gathered crowds about each car in turn as we drive through, after which we take our place in a special parking area nearby.

I have to keep the cars fairly rare, interesting and/ or expensive I'm afraid.

Anyone interested and have a suitable car?

If a BMW 520d or a Tiv Chimaera are considered suitable (I think not!), I'm available!!!

Otherwise I'll see you all at the event.

Good luck with the parade.

My nan has what must be the only nearly new VW/ Audi group car with not a single one of the options on the options list ticked.
That makes it fairly rare, right?

Thats abit like saying, "yes you can come to the party as-long-as you bring your good looking sister along" hehe
My mates aren't all that keen on these types of meets, inverted snobbery I think its called!!!!! but I will see what I can do.

EXCELLENT !! I really loved last years event, Sparkford services was a joy in itself. Photo heaven !! It would be good if we created a
"Non Special Car" convoy for us who dont go on the main display convoy. Any thoughts ??

Neither of mine are special enough I suppose, which is a shame as I live 3 miles away. frown

This really is a well organised event, i would recommend it to anyone considering it. The convoy is great if you have a noisy motor, my 4-pot felt a bit weedy with all the v8's around me last year.

Unfortunately I am booked to attend another event on Exmoor that day.

Not a supercar or a huge engine but rare/unusual (acquired via Pistonheads) and in keeping with the classics theme if I could be considered

You can put us down for this one. We'll even be in the same car as last year - that has to be a first!

I'd say Tango1 is definitely suitable for this event and you are very "special".
