Just a quick heads up for this event in case anyone's interested. It's called Classic and Specialist Car and Bike Night and that pretty much sums up what it is. It's a totally informal monthly gathering of interesting vehicles. Cars and bikes (and three-wheelers - yes, we've had a Morgan there before!) of all types, ages, conditions etc. All manner of stuff has turned up thus far in the year-and-a-bit the event has been running: classic Brit cars and bikes, some American muscle, pre-war/vintage, modern Italian exotica, off-roaders, modern superbikes... all are welcome!

The event happens on the last Thursday of each month, from about 7pm, at The Red Lion pub in Shobrooke, near Crediton, Devon.

There are pictures from the last meet on PistonHeads here:

Interesting mix last week - Hillman Imp, BSA bike, Riley, Ferrari, MX5, Maserati, Renault metallic mustard hatchback of some sort, 944, etc.

And the fattest chips I've seen in a pub for a long time.

Yup, a complete mixture. That was always one of the big ideas behind this meet. Got fed up with there being too many events where people got snotty if your vehicle wasn't old enough or new enough or fast enough or too expense or too shiny or not shiny enough blah blah blah! The Red Lion meet is all about mixing it up a bit and maybe get people looking at cars and bikes they wouldn't normally get involved with.

Obviously having a laugh and eating big chips is important too... wink

Hope it went well. Saw Paul headed out of Crediton. Work got in the way for me, not amused.

Hi Jon, yes I did see you, it was a good meet, some interesting cars but only one bike. The weather stayed dry so that helped. Good to see Jason and Rob smile

Thanks to all who turned out for the meet. Hope you had a good time. Have finally got my backside in gear sufficiently to get the photos up on the Facebook page:
www.facebook.com/rlcarbikenight

Also, noticed the comment about there being only one bike. It's the one thing we've yet to crack, so if anyone out there knows any two wheeled types who might enjoy the meet, give them a gentle kick up the backside and get them to come along! biggrin

Info on the Facebook page about the August events - yes, events plural! The normal Thursday evening meet is on the 29th, but on Sunday 25th the guys at the Red Lion are putting on a lunchtime Hog Roast and have said people can bring their "toys". Basically classic and specialist cars and bikes in exactly the same way as the Thursday meet.
