Classic & Retro Action Day at Castle Coombe.

Ive just booked my tickets for this years Classic & Retro Action Day. It takes place on Saturday 29th June. Currently there are 43 Owners Clubs attending. Its a new-look event this year including, Classic only, Pre 70's, Pre 90's, Porsche 911 & Lotus 7 only track sessions. It should be a very good day. Anyone else fancy going ?

I was going to go in my 81 924, but think I might have to have a rest that weekend as got a full on one this weekend, then another full on one 6/7 July.

This looks to be a great day out and maybe a track session, would be a good place for a PH meet and camp as they do camping at the track for £8 a night

There's the Grand Marques Day at Castle Combe this Sunday and about 300 cars on display in the paddock and track sessions. It's free for spectators.

Oow much blagging skills are likely to be needed to get me a pax ride on track considering I'll have a helmet with me anyway

Ah, this is gathering interest now. Its good to see. Track time ?
Im doing a "parade" session at 11.15 (other half doesnt like full track sessions !) Then at 12.45 im doing a " Open Classic & Retro" session. Cant wait, as my modified MX5 hasnt been on track before !!

It doesn't look like the Westfield club is having a stand this year and mine won't be back on the road. May need to buy some bits from Merlin that day though!

As ive just got back from a little break in SW France i thought i ought to catch-up with you fellow P/Heads.
It all looks good for C/Coombe on Saturday. Now there are now 65 owners clubs attending. Also 50 Porsche 911's on track celebrating their 50th anniversary. I plan on getting to the cicuit at around 9.30. It should be a GREAT day !!

Busy Day !! The MX5 is all bright & shinny,now ! Ive given it a good polish, hoover, plus a thorough check over. Cant wait to see you all tomorrow. I'll probably be on the MX5 o/c stand.

Saturday's event at Castle Coombe was very good !! Loads of rare classic race cars on & off track to see. As I previously mentioned there were 50 year anniversaries for both Lotus 7 & Porsche 911. I counted around 50 of each model.(i think !) Plus so much more. There were 65 stands in total. It was a shame more SW P/Heads didnt come as it was such great weather added to the beautifull cars.

Great day out and will definitely do this event again , had nice track session with sensibly driven cars on track unlike other action days , did spot a couple of PistonHeads cars but was surprised how quiet it was on track and spectating

Thanks Steve - tried to have a look, but there seem to be approximately eleventy-hundred Steve Brices on FB!!

Will bide my time and hope some get posted here.
