Great Weston Air Day, Saturday 22nd June
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone is going along?
As the name suggests its in Weston-super-Mare on Saturday 22nd June.
It'll be one of the last air shows to feature the mighty Vulcan which alone will make it worth going to!
The line up so far is as follows:
•The Red Arrows
•AVRO Vulcan V Bomber
•RAF Parachute Team
•RAF advanced turboprop trainer, the Tucano
•The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
•Pitts Special aerobatics display team, Team Trig
•The Dancing Tiger Moth 1930s biplane
•Royal Navy Lynx helicopter
•Gyrocopter

Sounds interesting, thanks for the headsup.
I don't know Weston at all - any locals care to advise on where to park and view this? I'll probably be in a MB Sprinter mini bus so need appropriate parking without a height restriction. Also, what time is best to get there to beat the traffic? Thanks!

The best place for you to park would most likely be the beach. Theres also quite a few side roads along the sea front which you can park in if you can find a space. For those with normal cars theres 2 large multi-storey car parks also just off the sea front.
The coucil runs them all pretty much so you should be able to find the postcodes etc here: http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/Transport/Parking+and...
As yet they havn't released timings but I'll keep an eye out and when they publish them I'll post them in the original post.

Ooo - that's a hell of a list. Definitely get there if I can
It really is! The long term plan is to turn it into a massive 2 day event like the Bournemouth air show. So fingers crossed it brings the crowds . Seeing the Vulcan beating hell out of the sea front will be fantastic!

Gutted, would have loved to see the Vulcan!
Unfortunately I'll be in Amsterdam with the lads , no doubt taking in other 'sights'
Bad timing there! I was meant to be taking one of our customers to Le Mans, but as I'd "only" get to see practice and the short classic races (that our customer races in) and leave before the main event I decided that I'd rather see the Vulcan for possibly the last time, although hopefully I'll get to a few more air shows to see it again Unfortunately I'll be in Amsterdam with the lads , no doubt taking in other 'sights'

I note they've now confirmed they have approval to fly in 2014/2015, just need funding!Gassing Station | South West | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
