I understand Cheltenham is a pig for parking. Does anybody know of good places to park near the Nuffield Hospital? I don't mind a short walk but I'd prefer somewhere that's not going to be scratched by disgruntled homeowners.

I'm happy to pay and I'm hoping that a local PHer might have a drive spare?

Any recommendations?

Nuffield has a car park. Side roads around there should be ok too. B&Q is also a short walk away. Dont park in KFC car park, car is not safe and parking mafia will nab you

Park in park and ride carpark. Get on bus, buy ticket, get off bus. It's standard GCHQ practice.

Do you even need to buy a ticket? I never have.

That's the officially endorsed practice apparently. I couldn't possibly comment on just parking and pissing off. The Thistle hotel will rent you a space for fairly reasonable rates if it's a more long term thing.

That's the problem, all the folk at GCHQ taking all the decent parking spots!

I'll try the Thistle for long term parking but park and ride sounds like a nice trick, thank you

Oh right, so there is nothing stopping you getting out of your car and not actually buying a ticket for the bus?

Not the done thing, but nobody to stop you?

Yes, but I caveat this, I haven’t used the Park and Ride car park for about 3 years.

I have been to the Nuffield a few times and I have always been able to park in their car park, so with luck all of the other alternatives are unnecessary
