Bodytek in Taunton, woukd get my vote. Excellent, done a few of my cars and always been perfect, staring with a brand new type r from the factory that had a paint run. The bit they did was better than the rest of the factory paint.

Not the cheapest but having had to use a few around Taunton and having had quality issues now always use Bodytek when the need arises.

Cheers
Raf

Nah mate - that was a Civic type R, was back in 2007 when then new FN2 Civic Type R came out, that's long gone!

Currently got an Evora, your type R is very nice though cool

Well that didn't go as expected!
I went to collect today and was presented with a part with:
Runs, sanding marks no paint on one corner and multiple blisters in the lacquer,
So they are doing it all again.
No arguments just an acknowledgment that it was not right or acceptable.apparently not checked by the proprietor.
Shame as I had real high hopes and thought I had found a shop I could use again and again, now we will have to wait and see what next week brings.

Blimey sorry to hear that, feel really bad for recommending them now.

Never had such an experience there I hope you gave them some st and they give you a big discount.

Sounds like they may have let a junior / new guy paint it not acceptable at all, fingers crossed its better next time round. To hear reports like that puts me off. I haven't use them in over a year but used them a few times in the previous years and never a single issue. I did make a real point first time round of saying I was really anal so perhaps they were extra cautious each time but your list sounds like a blind fuctard did the work!

I am sure the boss will do the job now and it will be perfect, should have been perfect in the first place! but let me know how you go and if it anything but perfection I will also never use them again!

If I'd seen this thread earlier, I'd have suggested going another 45 minutes up the road and using JB Autos in Bristol. They did a couple of jobs for me and the quality of work was excellent. No runs, no artefacts and no overspray. They also put things back together properly.
I've used many paint shops over the years and this is the best one I've found by a long margin.
In addition, they actually tell you what's going on!

On the subject of paintshops generally, don't assume that they are going to be good just because they do prestige franchise work. In my experience the general standard out there is below average.

Cheers.

Fingers crossed
I explained my unhappiness with the result,
and will give them a chance to rectify it.
I explained I may seem picky I said it is because I am,
I want it done properly
if a substandard job was OK I would have done it myself with rattle cans.

I'll keep this updated.

Update:
Having left the part there on Friday and not receiving any news
I called them when I got up this Pm
"Yes it is ready"
I enquire to wether it has been checked over by manager Richard, it was confirmed it had passed QC and was ready for collection.
I arrived there approx an hr later around 1345,
Receptionist says here it is. Within a couple of seconds I see multiple flaws in he finish, I advise I am not happy at all with this again,
She leaves to get Richard and returns with the painter of said piece of trim, a twenty something young man.
I point out the flaws( I counted 13 separate blemishes).
his response:
Well I thought it was good enough, this after having to do it twice and then still presenting poor quality work.
He says he can flat and polish the finish, I leave it with him and go and get a cup of tea.
I return 45 min later and was met by Richard and presented with the trim, now finished to the standard I wanted and that that was promised from day one.
I expressed my displeasure for approx 5 mins. He answers and responses gave no confidence.
Saying it was difficult and he was making no money on the job.
I also said I had hoped to find a good body shop I could use any time, now I was left disappointed,
The response again bordered on could not care
So in summary if you need a decent body shop any where I would recommend getting them to understand what you expect
I tried and seemingly failed, as such I will not return to this company or recommend them.

Glad to see you got there in the end, shame you had all the hassle.

Seems Richard has let things slip since I last used them / things ave gone majorly down hill, so will also be taking my custom elsewhere when the need arises!

A real shame
but it appears far harder to find decent places
over shoddy ones.
like SWWR wheel refurbishments another outfit with no care.
I took Mine to Platinum wheels in Swindon after SWWR failed to deliver.

I recommend searching out the best then telling them what you expect.
