Castle Hill Car Festival
Discussion
A quick update for PHers attending the Castle Hill Car Festival.
We are well on target for our display of 1,000 classics including our showcase exhibit of Aston Martin Owners Club vehicles to help celebrate the centenary.
We will also be running the Track Sprint Challenge - a 0.8 mile track event for owners to enjoy the thrill of a competition atmosphere in front of thousands of spectators. The challenge is being organised by the North Devon Motor Club and entry details will be available in the coming weeks.
For those who want to go out and about you can join the North Devon Sports and Classic Car Run which will start and finish this year at the Festival. This is a great way to enjoy the Devon roads and support the North Devon Hospice.
At noon each day there will be a breathtaking aerobatic display from the Abarth stunt plane.
Other attractions will include the chance to meet the team from Mission Motorsport plus you can visit our trade exhibition stands featuring Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Mercedes Benz and Lotus to name but a few. We also have the Top Gear Experience, the auctioneers and valuers Bonhams will be there and there will also be laser clays and archery plus a dedicated play area for younger children.
There will be quality food and drink available, music at intervals through both days and BBC Radio Devon presenter David Fitzgerald will be the 'voice'of the Festival
If you have a classic, bring it along and entry is £5 for the whole weekend.
Adults tickets are £12 Family tickets for 2 + 2 are £30, up to 16's - £5 and under 5's go free.

The idea behind the event is to have something of interest for all motoring enthusiasts - classics, modern , supercars etc AND make it a great day out for all the family. So there will be two elements, the classic displays and road runs, plus the dealers and track event which will hopefully appeal to everyone, whatever their vehicle (albeit that vehicle numbers will be limited in some way).
Just announced today that the fantastic Abarth stunt plane piloted by Mike jefferies will be performing on both days ( a clip of what to expect is on our facebook page ) and that BBC Radio Devon prsenter David Fitzgerald will be our event commentator.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Latest additions to the show include helicopter pleasure flights, laser clay shooting and archery. Of more interest to PHers is our line up of new models that you can see on the day.
Manufacturers with models on show include - Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Lotus and Noble to name but a few.
You can also see the team from Mission Motorsport with a couple of race cars, a Red Bull Renault F1 car and the team from Generation Aston Martin Racing.
More to be added as we get nearer the festival weekend.

Hot off the press news -
We will be displaying Kimi Raikkonen's 2013 Lotus Renault F1 car !!
As for the racing Astons, yes indeed. The team from Generation AMR (the Aston Martin Racing factory youth talent team run by David Appleby)will be bringing along a couple of cars and they can be seen on our track as will an Aston GT4 Vantage and Nissan 370Z from Mission Motorsport.
Also on the track will be historic racing karts, some of which were driven by our Formula 1 greats in their younger days.
We will have the final track event entry requirements finalised this week and we should be opening entries in the next 10 days. Keep an eye on our website - www.castlehillcarfestival.co.uk , facebook and Twitter feed for details

Must admit, for a first time show, it was very good. Good collection of owners cars and good support from dealers, Porsche really making an effort. We caught the 6R4 going up the hill on its last run, the thing took off like a scalded cat!!! Winning first place, enjoyed the day, weather held just long enough, even managed to get sun burnt!!
