Get your call into the old Bill sharpish. Index can be loaded onto ANPR database instantly and will ping on any fixed sites in the city. Plus you are reporting your bit as per the RTA. wink

Good luck,

Which sadly may well mean he is an uninsured driver. In which case you will have a no fault claim which may affect your subsequent premiums. I hope you get this sorted without delay and without personal cost. Do not forget you may have a personal claim against the uninsured drive if you suffer any after effects and the best of luck to you.

Fecking scum bag

This is why are insurances go up every year so they will ban him again but he will still drive after

Is there much damage then looks like you will have to pay out of your own pocket then

It was his mates car, so the police have told the owner of the car that he is still liable so its going through his insurance so luckily I dont lose out.

I really wish you luck with this but I'm not sure his mates insurance company will be helping you.

The car was in effect stolen and I'm not convinced the insurance company have any liability.

Like I said, I genuinely wish you all the best but you may want to post in SP&L for more advice.

Glad the toe-rag has been identified mate thumbup

His mate could also be done for permitting all the offences chummy is up for - so double pleasure.

But more important to you is getting your damage paid for, so hope that is sorted ... but its conforting none the less wink

Mmmm, but as discussed above; I suspect the insurance company doesn't care what the police say when it comes to liability in this case.

Which leads to an interesting thought. If someone nicks my car and writes it off, my insurers cover my loss. If it's written off causing loss to a 3rd party, do my insurers cover all loss as a result of the thief actions?

No is the short answer to that
Your insurance company will cover the loss of your vehicle (and probably try and wriggle out of that too), but any subsequential loss incurred in an accident to other parties would be the responsibly of the driver (thief) and itd be up to those with loss to pursue directly
Harsh but true as you'd be gutted if someone stole a car and ploughed it into your parked car
