Starting a new job next week based in Bath, just off Queen Square. Charlotte Street is looking like £110/month or so which isn't terrible but does anyone have any other tips? The cheapest solution is Park & Ride but... well, I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it hehe

TIA

Most of bath centre is permit only or cough up in the car parks. Look at oldfield park. Most side streets are not restricted and its a short walk or a couple of quid on a bus. The top of Victoria park is free and not restricted but be early as spaces go quick.

I'd heard about Vicky Park, which bit do you mean by the top? The run from Marlborough Tavern below the pitch n putt?

Some optimistic pricing there... £225/m vs £110 at Charlotte Street.

Victoria Park has a lot less free parking area than it used to have and the council are talking of removing all free parking there or at least making the free parking time limited.

Oldfield Park and Bearflat area has zone free on street parking but you might have a 15min walk to Queen Square.

yes thats on road parking but be early, its popular! The oval road round the park, within the park boundry by the pitch and putt is a good one although i have seen smashed glass there. Park with nothing in the car and glove box open.

Or you could try the other side of bath near the old mod on Warminster rd that's free but a bit of a walk. Just a minute that's where I park so forget I mentioned it. smile
Park and ride is a pig though. You can nearly work in quicker sometimes.

Which direction are you coming in from? You could waste a lot of time in congestion (gotta love London Road) so the roads without restrictions that are closest to you may be best.

Edit to add: the Salvation Army was recently offering weekday parking at their site on James St West (near the Odeon) for "small cars". The poster's not up now, but possibly worth an enquiry. I can't remember the offered price (sorry).

Coming down over Lansdown, office in Queen Square. Park seems like a good option if I get there early enough.

May aswel use the park and ride surely?

The missues uses it and for £13 for a 10 journey pass you can't really complain. Buses are regular and a new fleet have just been brought into service, so no tatty old things.

Ah, at that price, yes. I hadn't realised there were discounts on the go. So £13 / week then? Not bad at all.

Yeh, think it's £3 or £3.50 per return visit and £13 for the 10 journey pass so a bit of a saving that way and a lot over parking.

Good thing about the pass is that it is not limited to that week, so if you have a day off you don't lose out.

I work in the City and if you don't need your car during the day, P & R is the way to go. If you do, it's a pain. Charlotte Street is hopeless as there's no guarantee of a space, can be a nightmare in the summer if you pop out in the morning only to find its rammed when you come back. Private spaces are available for around the £80 per month from time to time, I've just rented a private garage for a Client behind Royal Crescent for £130 per month and that's only a diddy one.
