Restaurant for Mothers' Day - Forest of Dean

Chaps - can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in The Forest for Mothers' Day lunch?

Want to treat OberGruppenfuhrer (currently in foreign parts...again...) to a nice bite on Sunday lunch whilst also giving me a chance to blast up the Wye Valley road in Tango1, let Captain SmallTrousers off the lead in the forest and then return via 'Rents in Gloucester.

Any recommendations or places to avoid please?
