A few PHers have discussed getting out of the bumpy warehouses and trying some outdoor karting. It's more expensive but should also be smoother and hopefully more flowing, rather than loads of tight, slow corners that knacker your arms.

Clay Pigeon here in Dorset between Yeovil and Dorchester offers corporate events on Sundays for 16+ drivers. I was thinking mid March?

I am eyeing up the 1 1/2 hour enduro with 3 drivers per team for £55 per driver. With a 30 minute practice, each driver will get a total of 40 minutes in a kart.

What do you think? Anyone been karting there before? Is it too much?

I'm pretty busy in March! I'm away 8th - 11th, at Silverstone driving one of their formula first thingys on the 24th and I'm away 29th - 31st! If its a date that I'm actually about then I'd be game!

Anyone been to Mansell Raceway up at Dunkeswell? No experience of it at all.

Raceworld (Yeah yeah, I know that is inside...) has recently expanded and the track now includes a bridge/underpass setup.

I have been to the Dunkeswell one. The track is good and they have new karts that are meant to be much better than the ones I had a go in a couple of years ago (which were fine).

Mansell Raceway is good fun. Great track and the karts are pretty quick and edgy on the limit.

This is me wobbling around last year.

Hi Graham

I'm up for it, depending on date. Not been to Claypigeon but it's supposed to be good. Thruxton karting is good - fast Karts and decent facilities. Still makes the arms ache though smile

Depending on dates i would be up for this, and probably a couple others too. Clay used to be a very slippery track......one night back in the 80's in a rally prep rs2000 when we found a way in driving !!

I had been wondering why you hadn't replied to my Facebook message hehe

That sounds like quite a good deal for the money and I've had a few people tell me that clay pigeon is supposed to be quite good although I haven't been myself. I'm just looking forward to getting on track with some PH'ers again driving

Looks like a good venue.

Take a look here too, can recommend it. If it's not to far for you Northerners.

Definitely up for this, march might be too short notice for me though but I will keep my eye on the thread.

Mansell's track is great, I went for a session back in September last year and met the big man himself!

Well the only weekend free for me in March now is this weekend coming and considering this month is running out rapidly I'm guessing April will be better to book for? (should we get round to it)

So I take it this is a definite no go? (I mean for in the near future seen as the weather seems to be taking a turn for the better)
