Hi all,

I live about 10 minutes from Lands End, it's great unless you want to do a track day or airfield day.. Reckon nearest tracks are either Castle Coombe or Llandow but these are over 4 hours away!!

Does anyone this far south do track days? I dont have a fancy track toy, just want to turn up, have fun and drive home smile

Cheers

Lee

Its still there but never been officially used in my knowledge since I've been driving, thats 9 years now. Used to spend a bit of time up that way when I was younger.

There's no real circuits down there sadly.

My mate used to do competition sprints somewhere down near Newquay I think it was, on what was essentially part of an old runway, but i think that has stopped now.

For me, Combe, LLandow and the M4 corridor airfields (Colerne, Hullavington, etc) are the nearest ones.

Thats right. There is an oval circuit at St Eval for competition stuff and various places have sprint/hill climb stuff but its more car focused, so wouldnt be appropriate for me and my diesel rep mobile!

How often do you go on track? What car?

Try to go quite often. Cadwell Park is one of my favourites! I also use my daily driver diesel. biggrin

As said there are several sprint events and hill climbs. There was a 1/4 mile event down Peranporth way, mainly bikes, but cars aloud. Alas that is no more, I belive.

Davidstow is a crumbling wreck, these days. Unless the pot holes are filled with snow, at which point it becomes heaven on earth.

Nearest regular track meets are Castle Combe.

There's alway the St Eval Kart track. If your prepared to leave your Rep Barge in the car park. Not driven a Kart for years, but used to race them a bit. It was one of my favorite tracks. Lovely long 70mph+ straight, unlike most kart tracks around in the South West.

There's a few of us that do Llandow at least twice a year, from Plymouth way. You're welcome to tag along on the next one.
