Folks,

I think some of us discussed this at the Christmas Curry, but I was wondering who'd be up for it in practice?

Basically, we pick a weekend, leave on Sat morning, nice long hoon up through Wales on some of their fantastic roads. Stay in a decent-ish hotel somewhere up North Wales, Aberystwyth maybe. Then on Sunday, after a hearty fry-up, have a good hoon back down.

Any takers?

Sam

The horseshoe pass still haunts me. My one automotive indiscretion, and it was a big one! I do need to revisit it at some point to put the nightmares to bed. wink

Porthmadog is very nice. Could be in but would depend when. Would need to have my mx5 on the road for it.

Leave it until May (ish) and I'm in. Need to have a decent motor though and the MR2 just doesn't cut the mustard.

Cool, sounding promising then. May would be realistic as the weather (might) be a bit better by then... Although I am already committed to the drinkathon that is the Scilly Isles over the first weekend.

I'd be up for this if it ends up being on a weekend that I can book off work!

Yup. Best actually get out in a boat again soon though before being thrust into the open Atlantic!

Hi Sam, sounds good to me, but as others have said it's probably best to leave it to about May in the hope that the weather gets better. I really need to get out, the Chim has only done about 100 miles since August!!

I think a Bank Holiday weekend might frustrate the hooning aspect, sadly..

You have a good point. Just a Monday included on the weekend would make it a bit better smile

Personally, if it's just one night I'd be happy up to about £70 if it's half decent.

ETA- Premier Inn in the middle of Shrewsbury is about £55-£60 for a double room on a Sat night in May.

I'd be up for this if you could quell my reservations about our third party perception. I'd also need more details on the driving format.

Well, we're not a bunch of muppets with modified Corsas etc. It'll be a bunch of middle aged blokes making reasonable progress in a range of relatively tasteful sports vehicles.
