Road Trip----Nordkapp
Discussion
Im putting together a road trip to Nordkapp, it will be around 5000 miles round trip, which we should be able to do in 10-14 days.
For those that havent heard of the place, check it out on GoogleMaps...most northerly point you can drive to in the world. It is in the Artic circle, but seeing as we are going in June/July it shouldnt be too cold. In fact open top is the way forward!
We will take in some interesting roads along the way, some very long bridges and a tunnel that is 7km long!
Not looking for many people to come....but it would be good if we could increase the numbers slightly

Would love to do something like that as never had the chance to do it. Will mention it to swmbo tonight. She might be happy to get rid of me for a couple of weeks!!!
What would the trip cost - approx - with fuel, hotels, ferry crossings etc as no idea how to cost it out or how expensive stuff is in that part of the world.
Seems like a good thing to do to have some fun which is something I am lacking at the moment.......

Great news and good luck...I had promise all manner of things to get a pass! What would the trip cost - approx - with fuel, hotels, ferry crossings etc as no idea how to cost it out or how expensive stuff is in that part of the world.

Fuel, depends on the car you would be looking to take. I do suggest not taking the most amazing of cars in case it gets stone chips etc...roads arent necessarily the best. I would say though around the £500-£600 in fuel.
There are a couple of ferries, so look at about £80 each for those, and then we will be looking to stay in cheap hotels and 2 weeks worth of KFC or Mac D's! Or road kill! The odd moose...as long as one of the other cars hits it...you can benifit from the meat! You just need to return the favour and hit an elk!
I went sea kayaking near there in 2006 http://goo.gl/maps/VsHVp Scenary was something else!

I mentioned this trip to swmbo......
Is this not good? I did drop you over a PM...can you answer? On top of that the fuel consumption in my X-Type is not exactly good so I reckon I'd be looking at around £2500 in fuel costs alone!!!

I haven't had any mail. SWMBO was not impressed at all. Said I must to nuts to even think about it let alone want to do it so I guess I won't be going.

Oh dear...that is a shame. If you can convince someone else to come with you then can halve the fuel cost One of the guys coming has bought an Mx5 to do the run in...sell it when he gets back.On top of that the fuel consumption in my X-Type is not exactly good so I reckon I'd be looking at around £2500 in fuel costs alone!!!
