So, following a most excellent NYD hook- up I have suggested a regular meet at The Salmon, Wanswell.

Obviously this is subject to interest but the pub has a decent car park and the food and drink are very good.

To start the ball rolling, would there be a preference for a mid- week or weekend meet? I can then chat to the pub owners about how we can run it and poss discounted nosh, or buffet / sardines laid on...

Over to you!

Hi
Sorry i couldn’t make it to the meet today but was watching with interest.
I live in Dursley and while I don’t have anything that exotic car wise (sadly the tvr has gone) I would love to meet up.
I can also vouch for the food in the Salmon.
Probably a weekend would suit me best but as it's just 10 mins away if I am available I will be there.
Are there any photos of today’s meet?
Regards
Andy

Andy - all welcome! Doesn't matter if you drive a CityRover or a Veyron...

Well, actually if you drive a CityRover we may be tempted to "park" it on top of the climbing frame in the beer garden...

But anyway, that's one interested and a vote for weekends.

Isn't there some way you can do a poll on here? Mid-week vs. Weekend...?

There's already a regular Midlands meet at AV8 Kemble hijacking the South West forum. Have you posted in the Midlands section too? Those of us in the real South West need a day to get there!!! wink

Please take note of the wink, this remark is meant as light hearted humour only.

AV8 is closed for a couple of months for a refurb.

Those of you in the real South West need to get quicker cars then! wink

Keep your eyes open for the next SWPH meet. Normally monthly but the next one will probably be in February. Bit of a trek down from Bristol, usually meet West of Exeter, next one may be Cornwall.

One of my new year's resolutions - 'Attend more meets'. The Salmon is about an hour from me, I'm Swindon based, but happy to travel, as long as it's a weekend, no can do week nights.

Of course you will be welcome to run with us North South-Westers!

Keep an eye on this Forum to see what's coming up. Think the next one will be the Queens Square 13/01/13 meet.

Anyone got a can-opener? There's a can of worms here that I fancy opening!!!

Before anyone thinks I'm trying to step on the toes of Q Square / Kemble / etc, I was merely trying to arrange a get-together of like-minded folk that might be local to the North, SouthWest (Thanks Dilligaf10 - I like that!)...

Having been over the moon with the turn-out at Berkeley Heath yesterday morning (and having filed the necessary "permit to potentially go out sometime" permit with OberGruppenfuhrer) I thought it would be good to meet every month or so, and the venue is one that I can easily discuss plans with.

If you don't fancy driving your CityRover up from The Lizard to join us - that's fine (we'd only put it at the top of the climbing frame anyway!) - if, however anyone fancies joining in - from John o' Groats to the house next door - all are most welcome regardless of what vehicle you have.

So........ If I can gauge interest from near or far, and an idea of evening/weekend, I can commence arrangements.

I am interested, but still think that the last Sunday in the month meet, fulfills the objective, we just need a new venue now AV8 is closed. The beauty of Kemble is that it is easily accessible with good driving roads to get there.

I can only do weekends and sunday is the most likely for me, but as with most who have a family etc, once a month is as often as I can get laid make it to a meet. smile

Perhaps you shoud ask the landlord of the pub to see if he has a preferance. ??? Week days are nice during the summer ,and weekends during the winter.

Hi Ted - I spoke to the Manager briefly yesterday afternoon and, to be fair, she's up for anything to boost her trade!

I said that I would get back to her with a better idea of the finer details as I could only be very sketchy yesterday.
