Following the overturned lorry this afternoon, I've just spent 2 hours & 40 min on the road getting home - normally a 45/50 min journey.
Most of that time was spent sitting in stationary traffic in Bradley Stoke.

Any other tales of woe this evening?

P.S. Hope the lorry driver is okay.

My boss saw it happen. Said it was totally surreal seeing the truck fall over. I should say so!

Would imagine it would be a brown trouser moment if you were actually next to it when it was going over.

Ah, was this why everything seemed to be diverted A38-M5N? Typically, having finished work early I decided on a visit to the Mall (Packed) and then a bit of an epic journey to get to Gloucester Rd!

yes
No access to the M4E/M5N from the A38.

Thanks. The Mall being busy with pramidiots I could accept but the rest of the traffic just really confused me!

Nearly 6 bloody hours.

Bristol Airport to North Manchester. Didn't hear anything on the radio so just had to sit in it, though didn't really have an option as I'm not overly familiar with the area for short cuts and couldn't have got off the M5 anyway by the time I realised.

Had no idea what had happened so assumed that it was just the road works.

I also hope that the driver is OK.

I can never get my lost time back, though it sort of pales into insignificance now I understand what happened.

Unfortunately the Almondsbury interchange is an absolutely key junction and there are very few options to avoid it without massive detour.
