Going with my mate to Santa pod for the first tie in 20 years. He's drifting there next Wed

Just a quick question we will be in his van towing a trailer with the car on. Which is the best way to Santa pod from Bristol?

Either up to Brum then across the M42 etc...

Or Across country via Oxford

Or any other suggestions. Needing to be there for no later than 8:30AM so going to have to leave rather early

I imagine towing a trailer you'd prefer motorways rather than lots of roundabouts?

Therefore personally I would go up the M5 / M42 / M6 "south" hook up with the A14 and cut down near Wellingborough.

However, I think the shortest option is M4 to Oxford, up the A43. Just a lot of roundabouts.

I would go M4 to Swindon, across a420 to join A34 at Oxford, up the A34 to M40 an up one junction onto A43 then follow that all the way to Northampton. Good quality dual carrigeways all the way.

Just a lot of roundabouts from memory. It is the shortest so its the way I would personally go.

I would alter that a bit after A34 then cross M40 but dont get on it, thru Bicester, Buckingham, A5 Milton Keynes then through Olney to Wellingborough

That's the way I'd go too.
