New PB finally set today (me on left) - 60 foots still need to come down, so need to find some wider rubber for the front wheels I think.... 13.4 - My aim next year will be to set a 12 second. Terminal speed of 113 is just bonkers and a full 8mph faster than I'd gone before.

I'm on the left and it was less than 0.4. tongue out

And reaction doesn't mean anything. Clock only starts when you move.

you need to get that 60ft down set your front tyres at about 12psi and do a huge burnout then edge out of the waterbox slowly with the wheels still spinning toward the start line. you will be suprised its not about getting the tyres hot once you move out of the water box you will pick rubber up off the track and find amazingly that your tyres dont wear if anything you end up with more tread. when you pull away pull away with high revs and slip in the clutch dont just dump it. if you get loads of wheelspin pull away with lower revs if the car bounces up and down do a bigger burnout and if it bogs higher revs good luck

After I went along with chimtvr in my Phoenix, I nearly got bitten. Spent the next week scouring the classifieds for a more suitable chariot. About three weeks later, went on a track day and remembered how good corners felt, getting the braking point just right, turn in, balance the car on the throttle and accelarate out the other side. The 1/4 was soon shoved back in my mind, great fun and I'll do it again without a doubt, but circuit driving is where my heart lies.

When's the next Llandow cheap day?! tongue out

I have a set of Kuhmo V70A tyres to use. wink I don't mind a bit of bends either, but its nice to know my motor has some straight line grunt too.

Never heard "you snooze, you lose"

With practice you can "holeshot" a quicker car with immense satisfaction.

Slippery slope indeed, very addictive... I first went back in 1966...ran out several rails, ran out of several pots of gold... there is always an extra mph or tenth that must be had... walk away now, while you still can

I did have one where I got a 0.43 reaction, and the other quicker car got a 0.88, so we were basically neck and neck but I did finish 0.182 ahead, yet he did a 13.14 1/4, to my 13.57 (my slowest run of the day) - I was 4 mph faster over the line though. So yes, that was a "holeshot" - I don't remember what car it was though now.

Shakespeare Raceway just outside Stratford probably. About 150 to 160 miles still though, compared to 200+ odd for Santa Pod.
