Climbing in Somerset/Dorset preferably for beginners
Discussion
Hello,
Basically I've had a quick google and can't find anything of use as to where to climb either indoors or out for a beginner like myself who fancies giving climbing a go.
I pretty much have no clue about it besides doing a little bit on a climbing wall on a school adventure holiday and during my time in the scouts but both were 6+ years ago.
I live on the South Somerset, North Dorset border however I'm happy to travel to find somewhere (within 30-40 miles) for just getting on and having a go and seeing if I fancy taking it further.
So if you have gotten this far have you any idea as to where I might try?
Thanks in advance guys and/or girls!

Further away probably but there is a new indoor climbing centre in Exeter, it's around the Canal and is opposite AS Watersports. I'll try and find out what it's called.

Cheers for all the replies so far.
After a fairly intense google I have found a local centre (approx 6 miles) that offer indoor climbing sessions so I might pop on to one of those and see how I get on with it and who knows I may visit cheddar gorge or the Exeter centre in the near future.
Thanks again

Bristol has a great indoor centre (Undercover Rock - St Werbhurgs) and an even better bouldering centre (The Climbing Academy) which is very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, can even take the kids along
Outdoors Cheddar is great, good mix of difficulties, also Goblin Combe and Black rock quarry (also in Cheddar). Or even further away from you climbing in Avon Gorge is pretty nice and has some easyish routes
