I have been 'restoring' my wife's MGF Trophy 160 this year, and have spent thousands getting the 'mechanicals' to 'as new' condition (new alternator, starter moter, AP racing clutch, lightweight flywheel, Piper exhaust cam, new SS hoses and radiator, Janspeed manifold and sports cat, new top end - the list is endless. Underneath, it really is a new car, including the suspension, wheels, brakes, poly bushes, new steering rack,4 new wheel bearings, new Quaife LSD etc).

To complete this restoration, I would like the body resprayed with the proper 2-pack paint (Solar Red), and a couple of dings taken out of the bodywork. There are so many bodyshops out there, but I need to be sure that I take it to the right one, having already spent around £10k on the car this year, and I don't want some monkey boy thinking it's a cheap car anyway, so they'll do the bare minimum (with paint runs and overspray aplenty).

With this in mind, could anyone recommend me a really good (proper professional) place to take the car for the cosmetic work in the Gloucester area?

Cheers,

Chris

Chris,

if you can handle a bit out the way, JB Autos, Longwell Green in Bristol seem to constantly get good press on here and that's where I'll be taking the M3 in a while.

Probably worth a bit of a trek to get it done right - if you go for it, PM me how much they charge and your expereience as I'm in two minds between a front end respray or a full respray with a colour change.

Place next to where I used to work in Tewkesbury called "Kustom 101". They aren't exactly cheap, but we used them for pretty much everything from Miuras and Countachs to the carbon bits on the race cars. The work they did for us was always good quality.

I have also heard brilliant comments re Kustom 101 for everything including paintwork.
