I thought it would be good to have a Coastal Drive in September. So Im thinking we could meet on Sunday 16th Sept at Newton Abbot ASDA at 10am for tea/coffee etc for a 10.30 start. Then drive along the coast to Teignmouth, Dawlish & Starcross and proceed across country to Haldon Forest and then onto the moors to finish at Widdicombe in the moor.
Maybe have a drink or cream-tea. Its a smooth-road route of around 50 miles.
Let's have a great Sunday drive in the SUN ,(hopefully) !!

ASDA carpark?!

Giles's car will be at home but surely there's a better option?

Pete. Yeh, Asda carpark. Because;- Its easy to access, plenty of parking, petrol closeby & they sell FOOD !! Oh & I work there !!
You can approach Asda either from the A38 or via Totnes. Either way you have traffic lights at both ends of Asda. So its easy to find.(no sat nav req)!!
As you'll see in the original post this "Coastal Drive" has something for all of us. Coastal views, some long straights (for the BIG bhp boys,Giles etc)some twisty bits(for me & MX5's) and a bit of the moors. I hope this helps.
Brixham was also suggested! Isnt that where mothers eat their young ?

Id be interested in coming, not quite sure where Asda is...near the Race course? or near the roundabout as if going to Torquay?

Newton Abbot was thought a good choice after considering we often meet at :- Exeter services,Sourton services, Route 38 & Whiddon Down Services. Plus it is central for Plymouth & Exeter people using the A38/ A380.
Where is Asda in Newton Abbot ? If you're using the A38 take the Drum- bridges turning (Trago Mills)off the A38,then proceed to N/Abbot,take a left at the roundabout opposite a school playing-fields, then right at the traffic lights now Asda is on your left. Then take next left into their car-park. I will wait at the car-park enterance.
If youre coming from the Totnes (south hams) direction, drop down the hill into N/Abbot ,turn left at the traffic lights and the Asda car-park is on your right. For people using the dreaded Shat.nav. The post-code is TQ12 1TG.
See you there !!!
