I just fell over this site: drivingroads.co.uk.
It looks like a good idea but there's very little input from the South West. I'm not too hot on decent routes which is why I was interested in the site - anyone got any they'd like to share?

Just head over the bridge into Wales. I scared my wife silly coming home on Monday through some mountain roads near Pontypridd. You have to watch out for the sheep though. My youngest was given the task of watching out for the woolly buggers and missed the one which ambled out in front of us. Luckily ABS meant I missed it too!

Albeit, i was driving a 3 ton transit, still lovely though, and i can imagine an obscene amount of fun in anything more fruity than a van.

The South West covers quite an area - could you narrow it down a bit and perhaps suggest the kind of roads you prefer?

Around Bristol we don't have the kind of space you'll find in mid-Wales, so the good bits tend to be shorter - there are a few out there though.

The less is written down about routes the better. There are so many great roads. Much more fun to discover and share them with a few friends than the entire world.

Coastal roads are the best down this neck of the woods. Get some great views and nice twisty bits to play on

I'm not sure that the camera partnerships are scanning forums looking for ideas tbh. What we consider a good road is likely to be lightly-used, and not a good prospect for revenue-raising.

I spent a day in Wales last week, including the roads used in Chris Harris' F599 video. You couldn't argue that those roads haven't had a lot of exposure, but we didn't see any speed enforcement, and more importantly they didn't see us. wink

Police do trawl through these sites, not so much looking for this kind of thing, but I bet if we organised a big car meet or show in this area we would see mobile speed checks up on the main roads to these areas.
