Garage Flooring
Discussion
Hello All,
I'm be moving to a house with a double garage soon, and want to kit it out properly without breaking the bank.
There are currently 3 options for the floor, prices are rough quotes:
1) Two Pack Sealer & Paint - £100 (bank balance friendly)
2) Plastic interlocking tiles - £1000 (probable)
3) Porcelain Tiles etc - £1500 (Wish list)
Anyone have experience of options 2 or 3? I've used the paint before, to good effect. I will be using trolley jack, axle stands etc in the garage. I have spoken to a tile shop, who reckon that the tiles are up to the job, and they've used them in commercial buildings / places without problems.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of them.
Cheers,
Iain

Hi Iain,
On my garage floor i have the interlocking tiles.
They are fantastic!
Just by laying them the amount of dust has been reduced dramatically, and the general upkeep of the garage has been made so much easier.
The are fine for jacking etc., and are really quick and easy to fit!
It took me and my 11 year old son just over an hour to fit the single garage out.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Hello Allan,
Which tiles did you use?
Are you coming out for a play on Sunday morning?

Can't remember what tiles I lost the invoice!, but the mototile kit looks good (and cheaper then mine if I remember rightly.
The one thing I would suggest is that some of these companies loan tiles out for exhibitions and then sell them on as ex-demo.
There is a good chance that you can get yourself a better price if you are happy to consider it?
Cheers.
Re: Sunday, unfortunately not - family stuff on the agenda! I'll try again next month.
What did you think of the sample kit? I've just ordered one.
Just moved into a new house, of course the garage was the first 'room' to be decorated I've nearly finished painting the walls white, I'd planned on doing the floor with grey floor paint but those tiles would look much better and would probably last longer too.

Cheers for that. I ordered a sample pack from them the other day. Hopefully here for the weekend.
Take a look in the Lambo forum and search in there. There was the same discussion in there about a year ago and quite a lot of options and brands as well as examples came up. Very useful.Gassing Station | South West | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
