Any help please guys, I wondered if anybody knows of or uses a mobile tyre fitter? Or knows of any garages in the Burnham area that will fit tyres.

Now that they're so expensive (50% up over the past 3 years) I've bought a set of tyres online (£320 quid cheaper than the cheapest local quote) so now have a few quid spare to get them fitted.

I tried Event-Tyres but according to their website they don't operate in my area.

Anyone know how much is normal to pay for fitting? I guess around 20 quid per tyre including valve, balance and disposal?

I've found some garages in Weston, the going rate seems to be around 15 quid per tyre.

I get the feeling there must be a huge gap in the market for a mobile tyre fitting service smile I would think someone doing this seriously could make themselves around 1k per week once they'd built up a customer base and a reputation. Not bad for a one man band.

I think you will find there are an awful lot of costs you haven't taken into consideration in surance 6k-12k p/A , tyre change machine , balancer , weights , fuel for van/generator, basic hand tools/compressor. Then of course the van weighs over 3500kg so now you need operators licence and hgv and of course thats before you start paying taxes! Anyway enough said most business' costs would amaze normal employed people. Plug for a great tyre fitter

Thanks Chim, I've never been employed so yes I did take costs into consideration.

The main problem I can see is organising the work to get to the next job as quickly as possible, but once the customer base built up that would become much easier.

There appears to be enough profit in tyres to make mobile fitting a very viable business IMO.

On my other thread the fitters say there isn't much profit, but how come I can buy a pair of 285/35x18 101Y MO for less than 300 quid delivered, when the cheapest local fitted price is more than 500 quid.

Thanks for the link.
