As its only 2 weeks until the 2012 Wilton House Supercar Event,
on Sunday 5th August, I thought it would be good to have a SW P/H's convoy.
I notice there are a few of us on the official P/H car park list already.
What do you think ?

I'm still in two minds after the traffic jam on the A36 last year. I have my name down on the list and if the weather is nice again I'll probably head down. May try and plan an alternative route in this time though!

After the queues to get into the P/H car park last year the gates will be open at 08.30. Instead of 10.00 o'clock (last year). So I guess we should meet at Exeter Services 07.30. Early ? Yes, but it will be worth it !!! Ive been for the last two years and it just gets better. Then collect people from Taunton Services 08.00. You can register your name on the P/H car park list via a link on the main post on the "events & travel" section.

I think the same, I'm not going this year. Can't be bothered to sit in a huge traffic jam for almost 2 hours to see cars I saw the year before. It's turned into a show for kids and I don't do kids!
Would rather go for a hoon on a Sunday away from the crowds.

Hi all,

in terms of new things this year I will be brining along a Mk8 SRU Lynx to be on static display until 1500 then departing to carry out a flying display before returning to base.

I am offering access to the helicopter for a select few on the day if you are interested. There wont be general access to the public as for some reason, mainly kids, people have a habit of pulling things marked in black and yellow which invariably means bits fall off!

Be good to see you on the day...............

Oh , dear me !!! Guy's , have a little faith ! After last year's queues, they are opening the gates ONE & A HALF hours earlier.
( I actually only waited for half a hour last year !)
Im planning on getting there for say 9ish. As ive been for the last two years I cant wait. We are promised even more classics , also several "Surprises" in the "Supercar" display. The P/H car park is almost as good as the show its self in some ways. Last year I was parked next to :- Noble's, Tvr's, Lotus &
M/Benz SLK , to name just a few.

Its not necessary to buy tickets in advance, although I have. You can buy them on the day.
I know we have to meet early, but ive so enjoyed the previous two years of
"Wilton House Supercars". I think its goin to be worth it !! Im thinking of meeting at Exeter Services at 7.20am & leave at 7.30, as it's a 90 mile trip.
