Urgent advice on good local mechanic to work on SL55 AMG !

Hi all. Following on from my thread in the Mercedes forum, does anyone know of a good mechanic (local to Weston super mare - I'm in Burnham) that will take on the job of replacing a piston on an SL55? The head is already off.

Any replies before noon tomorrow appreciated, thanks!

why don't you use the same person who took the head off it?

That was the Merc dealer, and as said in the thread I would begrudge paying them £1000 per day for a mechanic. I took it there as it's always been serviced by them and I thought they would have the best equipment to diagnose a faulty coilpack or whatever the problem was.

If you can get it to Bristol then I can highly recommend Parkway Automobile in Fishponds, they are a Merc & AMG specialist & i've used them for years with no probs at all. Give them a call on 0117 9656164

The only garage I know that does the work on the car, lets you drive away then 2 weeks later then post the bill out to you!

+1 - just used them for the first time and was very impressed.

I will have to try the driving away trick next time....

Been using Parkway in Fishponds last couple years for looking after my Merc ,highly recommend
