Lepsons of Swindon have not closed, as I had been told, just ditched the franchise.

They are now 'Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions' 01793 887222

Same premises on Paddington Drive, same equipment, same staff, and same prices

I was quoted £308 for 4 x 18" wheel refurb, wheels on the car. I think it drops to £240ish if I can get the wheel to them. Seems reasonable scratchchin

.. just another public information announcement from your friendly BiB wink

I can certainly recommend the service provided. Recently went to shadow chrome, took wheels and tyres in three days later job done. thumbup

I can recommend them also. I needed one alloy repaired, but decided to have all 4 refurbed as well. So just had 4 x 19" Alpina wheels done at a cost of £365 inc VAT. They did a great job. It was either that or one brand new alloy at £850 quoted by Swindon BMW.

They now have their new bulding sign up, so you can't miss them!

A nice friendly bunch of people as well. I wouldn't hesitate using them again.

Know a few of the guys that work there and a few people who have had work done there. They are deffo the best place in the area. Slightly more expensive but the work is much better than others.

I was happy enough to drive from Bristol to drop off a loose set of 18'' rear Porsche Turbo wheels refurbed.

Picked them up 3 days later and more than happy with the end result.

Just realised that after refurb one of the front wheels has been fitted with a rear tyre. Not impressed. It is now Saturday pm and head of to le mans Wednesday night. I suppose it will mean another trip into Swindon frown

I'd gk to another tyre place then send them the bill for the swap probably cheaper than the fuel needed

Well as I may well need to have my Wheels done for a third time
Monday will tell frown
I will need to get them completely re done if the last effort by our Local (If near Exeter ) based company produce the same result. I was presented with last week, with contamination, over spray sink marks in lacquer on every wheel
only to be told I was being picky and if I stood back I would not be able to see the faults. My mistake as I was fuming was to not take pictures.
But I will when I next return to collect what I fully expect to be more appalling work.

so my Question :
has anyone used the Swindon company mentioned recently and can you vouch for their work?
I will be going there if (as I expect) my wheels fall far below the standards I expect and the shiny leaflet promises.

Thanks for that feedback.
I was so Peeved with what I was presented with On Tuesday I cannot express
due to swear filter.

Absolutely shocking to present a finished product that I could have had done anywhere with a stick and tin of paint.

unless they are A1 on Monday They won't be being fitted they will go straight to Swindon to be done Properly.

I too would vouch for their work. I used them when they were Lepsons about 2 years ago to refurb my Porsche 996 C4S alloys and the service was exceptional matching the wheels to the original Porsche paint spec

More recently (October) I managed to pick up a set of BBS Pescara alloys which had been impressively kerbed by the previous owner (all 4 wheels had the edges chewed all the way round! eek- Shame I didn't take any photos) I took them to the now renamed Platinum Alloys and they again did an incredible job of putting them right (pic below). They would have matched the original finish if i'd wanted, but in the end I opted for an Audi "Hypersilver" base coat as I thought it looked better. Apologies for not getting the centre caps straight!! biglaugh

Good luck getting your wheels sorted.

Mine are now in Swindon
as the Exeter place could not complete the work
I guess their normal business is trade cars for sale
as the finish was way below standard blistered paint
contamination in lacquer acid left on wheels from stripping process.

I had to collect them when they conceded they could not do them properly.
I then dove to Platinum and they are doing the job.

I should have gone there first, You live and learn frown

Just a bump really for info:

I got round to finally having all four 20" Senta's refurbed at Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions of Swindon this week.

All I can say is what a top job thumbup Great finish, and they managed to sort one with a buckle that Jaguar said would need a new £525 wheel to sort! I also booked far enough ahead to have their courtesy car (a 10 reg VW Fox) for less than a tenner a day which was worth all the hassle of arranging alternate transport as the XK is my only car.

Great service, a fair price for such big wheels - especially as they took each of the small stainless steel allen screws that surround the rim out, and polished them up too - £440 all in. All done in exactly the time that they said - 4 days.

Here is the kerbing on one pre-refurb: top one was there when I bought in Oct the left kerb was me losing a battle with a 7.5T on a narrow village road with cobbled kerbs frown

An example of the deterioration in the original 6 yr finish:

A finished wheel:

The insides can be done to nearly the same finish as the outsides - so better than factory!

Just adding a shot on the car now I have washed it!

So I can thoroughly recommend them.

The only trouble is that they are so good ... I had to replace the centre caps and am in the process to painting the calipers and getting new bolts!!! laugh

Another happy customer here too. They did my RS Clio's wheels last year and I'm just waiting for them to finish a second set of wheels too. The finish they achieve is first class smile

Just thought I'd chip in my experiences - I've been there (when they were Lepsons Swindon) twice, both times very satisfied with the outcome. Unfortunately my alloys are very soft so pretty much any pothole will bend the rim, as happened last weekend again, so I'll be going back a third time!
