In Car Audio

I would like top fit a new head unit and decent speakers. I have an idea of the unit I want, which I can source myself and will take an ipod connection.

Can somebody recommend a local company in an around Bristol/Swindon/Bath/Cirencester area. I would prefer a small independent but any ideas appreciated. A few months ago I popped into to Sextons in Swindon but they are now closed.

Cheers, checked out website, looks good although Alpine unit £100 dearer than on web. Wondering if that includes fitting. Will speak to them tomorrow.

The problem is, you have answered your own question

You want a small business to use their quality, experience and knowledge but you also want them to match the online discount warehouse prices. This is why they do not exist anymore, they all go bust. I am no different in many ways, I recently researched my kenwood head unit and then bought it online at half the retail price !

Added to that, muppets like me then install the kit themselves too.

I paid £107 for a £200 head unit, then fitted it myself. The independant company wanted £600 from me for the same installed result.

Anyway, im sure you'll find somewhere that can help, good luck with it

I know what you said is true. The sound of the car is music enough but that said sometimes, ie trip down to Le Mans, some decent sounds would be great.

?? Strange comment. I have now sourced an Alpine head unit, small Alpine amp and speakers from Road Radio in Crawley within my budget, and my local garage have recommended me somebody who will fit it for me, at my home address.
